Public Law Resources
McDonough Holland & Allen PC has represented public agencies, businesses, and individuals since 1953. With nearly 100 attorneys, McDonough is one of the largest law firms based in Sacramento. We serve clients throughout California and neighboring states through our offices in Sacramento and Oakland.
Our long-standing tradition and knowledge in representing public entities has led to the firm’s reputation as one of the state’s preeminent public law firms. Approximately one-third of our work is for public entities, which reflects McDonough’s ongoing commitment to public sector representation and attests to a wealth of experience in this area. Moreover, given the myriad complex issues that face public agencies today, our clients often benefit from the other diverse practice areas within the firm including business, construction, health care and real estate law.
We serve as contract city attorney to a number of cities in California and as general counsel and special counsel to hundreds of cities, counties, redevelopment agencies, joint powers agencies and special districts throughout the state. Specialized services we offer public agencies include land use, environmental, affordable housing, eminent domain, redevelopment, employment, telecommunications and public agency litigation.
Our book, Redevelopment in California, published by Solano Press, has been used throughout the state and cited by numerous courts. The 2004 edition was updated to include the significant changes in the law that took effect in 2007.
McDonough’s philosophy is to help businesses, individuals and local governments build and sustain our communities. We believe in forging strong, long-term relationships with our clients, not only by providing sound and practical legal advice, but also by anticipating our clients’ needs and crafting innovative solutions. |
