MCDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN’S KENT SILVESTER NAMED PRESIDENT OF SACRAMENTO ESTATE PLANNING COUNCIL

SACRAMENTO, Jan. 15, 2008 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC Shareholder Kent Silvester was elected president of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council (SEPC), an organization of the region’s estate planning professionals. Silvester, a 13-year member of SEPC, will serve a one-year term. He previously held the position of vice president.

This ability, coupled with Kent’s wealth of knowledge on the financial, tax, business, real property and legal aspects of estate planning, promises to make positive contributions to both SEPC and the community at large,” said Jeffry R. Jones, managing shareholder at McDonough.

Practicing law with McDonough since 1990, Silvester, who is also a certified public accountant, focuses on all facets of tax, business and estate planning for high net-worth individuals. He also advises clients regarding business organizations and transactions, charitable giving and trust administration. He has significant experience in the design and implementation of succession plans for tax-efficient ownership transition of family businesses and investments.

Silvester has held several philanthropic and community leadership positions, including: trustee of the Sutter Medical Center Foundation; director of the Capital Jazz Project; and past chair of the Pass Through Entities/Real Estate and Young Tax Lawyers Committees of the State Bar of California Taxation Section. He earned his J.D., with distinction, from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1986) and his B.S. in business administration with concentration in accounting from California State University, Sacramento (1982).
