SACRAMENTO, Calif., August 15, 2007 -- McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, adds two associates to its Business Services Practice Group. Michael W. Pearson joins from Downey Brand as a corporate and tax attorney and Penelope "Penny" R. Brown is an estate planning attorney from Strategic Wealth Legal Advisors.

“We are thrilled to strengthen our tax and estate planning muscle by welcoming Michael and Penny to our team,” said Jeffry R. Jones, managing shareholder at McDonough. “Michael and Penny are now part of one of the most experienced and largest tax and estate planning houses in the Sacramento region. Our ability to grow this practice is a direct result of clients realizing our deep bench of talent and of our continued focus on meeting and exceeding their expectations.”

Pearson’s corporate and tax law practice includes drafting asset purchase agreements and supporting documents for businesses involved in mergers or acquisitions; assisting in tax matters regarding SEC compliance and filings; tax planning for various real estate and corporate transactions; and drafting stock purchase agreements and stock option plans.
