Michael W. Pearson joins from Downey Brand as a corporate and tax attorney and Penelope "Penny" R. Brown is an estate planning attorney from Strategic Wealth Legal Advisors. “We are thrilled to strengthen our tax and estate planning muscle by welcoming Michael and Penny to our team,” said Jeffry R. Pearson is currently vice chair of Young Tax Lawyers for the State Bar of California. He also has served as Taxation Section chair and Business Section chair for the Sacramento County Bar Association. Pearson earned his J.D. from the University of California, Davis, School of Law (2003) and a B.A., summa cum laude, in philosophy from the University of the Pacific (2000). Brown brings significant experience in estate planning and probate law. Her practice focuses on post-death administration of estates and trusts, as well as pre-death estate planning involving revocable and irrevocable trusts. Brown is a member of The State Bar of California's Trusts and Estates Section and frequently teaches workshops on estate planning issues. She received her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2001), and a B.A., with honors, in English from the University of California, Davis (1998).
