McDonough Holland & Allen PC Elevates Four to Shareholder
Brent Hawkins and Donna Holtz Elected to Board of Directors

SACRAMENTO / OAKLAND Calif., Apr. 2, 2007 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, announces that Stephen Lerner, Steven Rudolph, Benjamin Stock and Sean Thompson were elevated to shareholder, effective today.  In addition, Brent Hawkins and Donna Holtz have been elected to the Board of Directors.

Jones.  “We also look forward to the talent, energy and perspectives Brent and Donna bring to our Board of Directors and thank Ed Quinn and Jerry Ramiza for their long-time Board service.  Ed was chairman of the Board for the last four years of his nine-year term, and Jerry has been on the Board for five years.”

Lerner, previously of counsel in the firm’s Sacramento office, represents individuals, private businesses and public agencies in real estate, general business and environmental law.  He has extensive expertise in all phases of civil litigation, including successfully litigating jury and bench trials to completion.  Prior to law school, Lerner served as the environmental assistant to the Mayor of San Diego, where he developed and implemented programs and policies in the areas of water supply and conservation, parks and open space, air quality, and solid and hazardous waste.  Lerner earned his J.D. from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1994) and his B.A. from University of California, San Diego (1988).

Rudolph joined McDonough’s Sacramento office in 2005 as of counsel.  His practice encompasses all aspects of public law, including land use and planning, the California Environmental Quality Act, municipal finance, public contracting and redevelopment matters.  In addition, Rudolph serves as city attorney to the City of Colusa and general counsel for the Rancho Murieta Community Services District.  Prior to joining the firm, Rudolph served as city attorney for the City of Folsom.  He also has served as deputy county counsel for Sacramento County, where he was counsel to the Planning Commission, Water Agency and several other county departments.  Rudolph earned his J.D. from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1986) and his B.S. from the United States Coast Guard Academy (1979).

Also a public law attorney, Stock was previously an associate in the firm’s Oakland office, where he focuses on public law litigation, including eminent domain, land use and construction law.  He provides litigation and transactional counseling services to the Cities of Emeryville, Rohnert Park, Livermore, Fremont, Sunnyvale and Calistoga.  In addition, Stock serves as general counsel for the Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority and as assistant general counsel to the Ross Valley Sanitation District.  He earned his J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2000) and his B.A. from University of California, Berkeley (1996).

Previously an associate in the Sacramento office, Thompson represents clients in all areas of construction law, including the mediation, arbitration and litigation of claims, public and private contracting, insurance coverage, mechanic’s liens, stop notices, surety bonds, bidding, licensing and false claims.  Thompson earned his J.D. from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2000) and his B.A. from University of California, Davis (1996).
