MCDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN PC WELCOMES NEW PUBLIC LAW ASSOCIATE TO ITS OAKLAND OFFICE

Oakland, CA, Feb. 12, 2008 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, added Rafael Mandelman as a senior associate to its Public Law Practice Group. Mandelman joined McDonough’s Oakland office from Jarvis, Fay & Doporto.

He is the whole package,” said Michelle Marchetta Kenyon, shareholder in charge of McDonough's Oakland office. “Our Public Law Practice Group has grown substantially in the last year and we are excited to expand our service offerings by adding experienced attorneys, such as Rafael, who have years of experience working with public agencies throughout California.”

Mandelman primarily represents public agencies, including municipalities, redevelopment agencies, housing authorities and housing developers, in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act and other environmental regulations; taxation issues; real estate financing and transactions; affordable housing requirements; loan agreements and documents; rent control regulations; litigation; and general land use matters.

Mandelman is actively involved in a diverse set of professional and political organizations. Current roles include: vice chair of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee; board member of the Livable City organization in San Francisco; board member of the New Israel Fund; and member of the Bay Area Jewish Community Relations Council.

Mandelman earned his J.D. with a certificate of specialization in Environmental Law from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (2000), his M.A. in public policy from Harvard University (1999) and his B.A., cum laude, in history, from Yale University (1996).
