Press ReleasesMcDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN ELECTS NEW MANAGING SHAREHOLDER Sacramento-Based Firm Targets Strategic Growth as Jeffry Jones Succeeds David Beatty SACRAMENTO, April 26, 2004 -- McDonough Holland & Allen PC, one of Northern California's leading law firms representing both public and private sector clients, has named Jeffry R. Jones as its new managing shareholder. Jones succeeds David F. Beatty, who completes a three-year tenure that began in 2001. Under Beatty's leadership, the firm experienced strategic expansion in areas of continuing regional growth. Beatty also spearheaded the adoption of new technology at McDonough, establishing a solid infrastructure that enables attorneys and staff to work and communicate more efficiently and successfully, thereby enhancing client service. "During Dave's tenure at McDonough," said Jones. "The firm continued growing in its core practice areas of real estate and construction, health care, public law, redevelopment and land use. We also tactically launched new practice areas, including the environmental law section and intellectual property group. I look forward to continuing the work Dave began and building upon his accomplishments for even greater success for the firm and its clients." Jones, 54, joined McDonough Holland & Allen in 1979. His practice covers a wide diversity of real estate transactions for both public and private sector clients. On the private side, he is local counsel for developers of master-planned communities and merchant homebuilders, such as Lennar Corporation, who builds Renaissance Homes and Winncrest Homes locally, and for regional homebuilders such as JMC Homes. On the public side, Jones has served as special counsel to public agencies in numerous public and private transactions, such as the State of California Public Employees Retirement System, the County of Los Angeles Department of Beaches and Harbors, and the Daly City Redevelopment Agency. Jones is a member of the California Land Title Association. He received his J.D. from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific (1979) and his B.A. from the University of California at Davis (1971). Beatty's new role at McDonough will be of counsel. He will continue to advise long-standing clients on a limited basis in his practice, where he specializes in redevelopment, municipal and land use law.
