MCDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN SHAREHOLDER HONORED FOR YEARS OF SERVICE AS A CERTIFIED TAXATION LAW SPECIALIST

SACRAMENTO, Jan. 8, 2008 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC Shareholder James L. Leet was recently honored by the State Bar of California for his 20 years of service as a Certified Specialist in taxation law. The Board of Legal Specialization (BLS) established this recognition program for specialists who have been continuously Board certified in a particular area for at least 20 years.

“We are all proud of Jim’s unfaltering dedication to his chosen field of taxation law and, by extension, to his clients and their businesses. Tax law is continuously evolving, and maintaining certification for 20 straight years is no small accomplishment. Our hats are off to Jim,” said Jeffry R. Jones, managing shareholder at McDonough.

A member of the Business Services practice group and Chair of the firm’s Board, Leet’s practice includes all aspects of corporate, partnership and personal income tax planning. He is a member of the Sacramento County Bar Association – Tax Section, which he co-founded and was elected as the first Section Chair. Leet earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida (1981) and his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara Law School (1979).

The Board of Legal Specialization (BLS) administers the State Bar of California Program for Certifying Legal Specialists with the assistance of specialty advisory commissions; provides policies and guidelines for certification of specialists; develops testing and legal education criteria for specialists; develops outreach efforts to increase awareness of the program; and advises the Board of Governors on establishment of specialty fields and appointment of advisory commissions.
