McDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN PC CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN THE FIRM'S STRATEGIC VISION WITH KEY ADMINISTRATIVE NEW HIRES

SACRAMENTO, December 2005 -- McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, strengthens its firm wide business and operational leadership with the additions of Gerry L. Holt, executive director; F. Ray Nuñez, director of finance; Jill M. Okimoto, marketing director; Shelly Y. Orio, marketing specialist; Rebecca M. Reed, human resources director; and Patricia J. Harvey, legal secretary supervisor. "2005 was a strong financial year for McDonough Holland & Allen PC, and 2006 is shaping up to be even stronger,” said Jeffry R. Jones, McDonough's managing shareholder. “The addition of an experienced and talented new executive director, finance director, marketing team and personnel leadership will help drive our strategic plan, which includes continued growth in our core business service areas: business, construction, health care, public law, redevelopment and land use, and real estate."

As executive director, Holt guides and oversees McDonough’s administrative departments and business strategy. He has more than 27 years of executive business management experience, including 20 years of work with law firm administration and management. For six years, Gerry was an independent consultant to small- and mid-sized law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he specialized in firm wide strategic planning, including attorney compensation systems, financial profitability, marketing and business development, information systems and administrative operations. He also served as a management consultant with Hildebrandt International, where he worked with large- and mid-size firms across the country in strategic planning and financial reviews, and Holt has held director and executive director positions with multi-national and medium-sized law firms.

As director of finance, Nuñez manages all of the firm's finance and accounting affairs. Ray is a certified public accountant with impressive corporate finance as well as marketing and business development experience. Ray enjoyed a 16-year career with Hewlett-Packard, Fortune 500's 11th ranked company. He joined the company in 1989 as a senior financial analyst and from 1994 to 2001 held a variety of financial management positions in HP’s Global Support Logistics and Corporate Real Estate organizations. He was most recently an HP product marketing and business development manager where he drove the services sales and marketing strategy for the HP OpenView Management Software business. Prior to HP, he was a senior accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells in San Jose.

In leading strategic marketing, business development initiatives and client service programs, Okimoto draws on more than 10 years of national legal marketing experience. Based in Silicon Valley, her previous position encompassed oversight of transactional marketing, including capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and venture services, for the national law firm, Gray Cary (now DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary LLP). Jill was also a marketing professional with the national employment and labor law firm, Littler Mendelson. Before working in law firm marketing, she managed the State Bar of California’s Department of Public Education and was a member of the State Bar’s Office of Communications. Jill began her career in the legal field coordinating law-related education programs for the Citizenship & Law-Related Education Center (now the Center for Youth Citizenship) based in Sacramento.

As a marketing specialist, Orio manages public relations activities, and internal and external communications for McDonough Holland & Allen PC. Previously, in the non-profit sector, she handled health promotions, education and advocacy for two national organizations, conducting community outreach, mission awareness, coalition development, education, grant funding and program management. Shelly's efforts extended throughout the western region, including Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, where she worked with agencies such as the California Highway Patrol, Office of Traffic Safety and several county and state health departments. She also has worked with a San Francisco-based public relations agency.

Reed manages all aspects of the firm's human resource (HR) needs and goals. She joins McDonough with more than 15 years of extensive experience as a HR management professional, working both in house and as a consultant to private companies, state and local governments, special districts, and joint power authorities. Previously, Reed was vice president of The Reed Group, Inc., a management consulting firm, where she conducted HR functional assessments and reviews, custom compensation surveys and classification studies; consulted on succession planning and compensation design; developed a performance management program; and drafted and implemented a comprehensive HR policy and procedure guide. Reed also has worked for KPMG Peat Marwick LLP, as a senior consultant and national HR director.

As McDonough Holland & Allen PC’s legal secretary supervisor, Harvey oversees all legal secretary personnel and manages support staff workload distribution. She began her career as a legal secretary more than 30 years ago and quickly advanced to office administrator for a Modesto law firm. In this role, Harvey was responsible for personnel supervision, including the hiring and training of professional administrative and accounting staff. She also served as accounting manager, overseeing general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, time and billing, and internal network supervision.
