McDonough Holland & Allen’s Ann Taylor Schwing Selected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 24, 2007 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, one of Northern California’s legal leaders representing both public and private sector clients, announces that Ann Taylor Schwing, of counsel, has been selected to the exclusive Fellowship of the American Bar Foundation (ABF), making her one of only six Sacramento-based attorneys to earn this distinction.

“The Fellows” of ABF is a national honorary organization of attorneys, judges and law professors who support and advocate for advancing justice through research on law, legal institutions and legal processes.  To be selected a Fellow, candidates must demonstrate outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession publicly and professionally.

“We have long been aware and supportive of Ann’s professional and nonprofit involvements and her many accomplishments in these important arenas.  We couldn’t be happier that she has been selected a Fellow of this prestigious Foundation,” said Jeffry Jones, managing shareholder at McDonough Holland & Allen.  “Ann is a true leader in the community and the firm, and the invitation to join The Fellows is a testament of respect from her colleagues.  She will undoubtedly continue to make great contributions to ABF.”

Schwing maintains a general business practice focusing on appeals, motions and research.  She divides her time among work for the firm, writing legal treatises, involvement in The Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court and serving on several nonprofit boards and the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

Schwing has written books and authored numerous articles on a variety of legal topics.  She earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law (1975) and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1968).
