RENOWNED FORMER CITY ATTORNEY JOINS McDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN'S BAY AREA PUBLIC LAW PRACTICE GROUP: WYNNE FURTH BRINGS MORE THAN 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE TO THE FIRM

OAKLAND, CALIF., September 18, 2006 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, today adds Of Counsel Wynne Furth to the firm’s Public Law Group. Furth joins the Oakland office with more than 30 years of municipal and public law experience, most recently serving in the city attorney's office for the City of Palo Alto.

“With the addition of such an experienced, reputable and highly-respected attorney to our Bay Area office, we continue to grow and solidify our position as a leading California public law firm," said Michelle Marchetta Kenyon, managing shareholder for McDonough's Oakland office. “Wynne will be a tremendous asset to our group. Her leadership as a city attorney will bring a solid platform of statewide connections to our public entity and private clients.”

In her eight years with the City of Palo Alto, Furth was principal legal advisor to the Planning and Transportation Commission, Architectural Review and Historic Resources Boards, and Department of Planning and Community Environment, as well as advising the City Council, Human Resources Department, and Public Works and Utilities Department, where she counseled on issues such as capital projects, financing, and land use.

Prior to serving Palo Alto, Furth practiced municipal law with two private law firms, Best, Best & Krieger LLP and Allard, Shelton & O'Connor, where she served as city attorney for the City of La Verne and the City of Claremont, as well as deputy city attorney for the City of Glendora. Her experience also includes providing general and special counsel for many other cities and public agencies in Southern California.

Furth’s civic and community involvement includes an active role in the League of California Cities, where she has held leadership roles on various committees, including serving as second vice president of the City Attorney's Department. She also is a frequent author and lecturer on a broad range of municipal law issues.

Furth was a fellow at the University of California, Center for the Study of Law and Society (1974-1975). She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School (1971) and her B.A. from Stanford University (1968).
