Press ReleasesMcDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN GROWS KEY PRACTICE AREAS WITH ADDITION OF FIVE ATTORNEYS SACRAMENTO/OAKLAND, Nov. 20, 2006 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC (MHA), a leading Northern California law firm representing both public and private sector clients, adds five attorneys as associates. In Sacramento, Maria Fonseca Dryden and Brenna Day Arceo join the health care group and Erin McDonough is added to the construction group. In Oakland, Laura Kennedy and Andrea Visveshwara join the public law group. “We are pleased to add these bright attorneys to our firm – particularly since many of them have proven their abilities through our summer program or during other periods with us,” said Jeffry R. Jones, managing shareholder of MHA. “In addition, we are committed to ensuring that Brenna, Maria, Erin, Laura and Andrea, as well as the rest of our attorneys, grow and evolve professionally. During the last two years, we’ve invested heavily in training and development, and we anticipate the efforts will continue to keep our attorneys and staff at the forefront of business and industry.” Dryden joins Sacramento’s health care group where she will focus on managed care litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Dryden was a civil litigation associate with Murphy Austin Adams Schoenfeld, LLP, specializing in health care and business litigation. She served as general counsel to the Center for AIDS Research and Education Services (CARES) and also represented hospitals, health systems and health care providers in matters involving contractual disputes, unfair competition claims and reimbursement issues. She received her J.D. from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (2001) and a B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara (1985). McDonough joins the construction group, where she will focus on construction- related litigation and transaction counseling for private and public clients. Previously, she was with Davison Van Cleve, PC, in Portland, Ore., and she served as a law clerk at Oregon’s Bonneville Power Administration. McDonough received her J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School (2003) and a B.A. from Rice University (1998). Kennedy, also a former MHA 2005 summer associate, joins the public law group in the firm’s Oakland office with experience gained as an extern for Justice Simons of the California Court of Appeal, as a law clerk for the Center for Community Solutions Legal Clinic, as a volunteer for the San Francisco Superior Court’s Access Center and as an intern with the Federal Defenders of San Diego. Kennedy received her J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2006) and a B.A., magna cum laude, from San Diego State University (2002). Visveshwara also joins Oakland's public law group. Before joining MHA, Visveshwara was a litigation associate at firms in Washington, D.C. and the Bay Area, where her practice focused on complex litigation. She received her J.D. from University of Wisconsin Law School (2003) and a B.S. from University of Washington (1999).
