McDONOUGH HOLLAND & ALLEN PC SHAREHOLDERS NAMED NORTHERN CALIFORNIA SUPER LAWYERS IN 2007

SACRAMENTO/OAKLAND, Oct. 24, 2007 – McDonough Holland & Allen PC, a leading Northern California law firm representing both private and public sector clients, announces that Shareholders Michelle Marchetta Kenyon, Morgan T. Jones, James Leet, L. Stuart List and Susan Schoenig were named 2007 Northern California Super Lawyers. Published by Law & Politics, the Super Lawyers list is compiled through peer nomination and research. Approximately five percent of the Northern California Bar received the distinction.

“These five outstanding attorneys are very deserving of this recognition, and the firm is fortunate to have stellar leaders across multiple legal disciplines, including public law, real estate, tax, estate planning and employment,” said Jeffry Jones, managing shareholder of the firm. “Many of those honored have been recognized on the list for a number of years, which is a testament to their success as attorneys, as well as the high regard in which they are held by peers and colleagues.”

Kenyon, managing shareholder of the firm’s Oakland, Calif. office, practices public and municipal law. She has provided legal representation for cities, redevelopment agencies and other public agencies as city attorney and special counsel for more than 20 years. Kenyon currently serves as city attorney for the cities of Rohnert Park, Calistoga and Moraga, and special counsel to the cities of Berkeley, Pacifica, San Bruno and San Mateo. She also serves as general counsel for the Livermore-Amador Valley Water Management Agency and Sanitary District No. 1 of Marin County. Kenyon earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law (1986) and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1980).

Jones has a comprehensive real estate finance practice ranging from large, complex loan originations and workouts to volume lending programs. He represents clients in connection with construction loans; mezzanine loans; take-out, permanent and conduit loans; loan syndications and participations; intercreditor relationships; leasehold mortgage loans; affordable housing loans; letters of credit issued as credit enhancement to support bonds; and all types of security properties. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law (1981), his M.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles (1975), and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1970).

Leet has a 25-year tax law practice, serves as chair of the firm’s board and is a member of the Business Services group. His practice includes all aspects of corporate, partnership and personal income tax planning. He advises clients on issues relating to real estate transactions; the structure, formation and operation of partnerships and limited liability companies; and on planning and implementing corporate reorganization and business acquisitions. Leet earned his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida (1981), his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara Law School (1979) and an A.B., magna cum laude, from St. Louis University (1973).

List is also a member of the Business Services group and practices estate planning and probate law. He focuses on estate planning for complex estates; preparing revocable and irrevocable trusts; assisting in the formation and succession planning of family owned business entities; advising on the post-death administration of complex trusts and estates; and preparing estate and gift tax returns. List is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. In addition, he is a certified public accountant. List earned his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1989) and his B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (1984).

Schoenig has been practicing employment law at McDonough for more than 25 years and currently leads the practice group. She advises a diverse group of public and private employers in all types of employment/labor matters, including drafting contracts, employee handbooks and policies; counseling on discipline and termination matters; investigating claims of discrimination and harassment; and defending employers in all aspects of employment litigation. Schoenig earned her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (1979) and her B.A. from California State University, Chico (1974).
