IT Director - Sacramento

McDonough is currently seeking an IT Director who will be responsible for oversight and direction of the firm's Information Technology department. Candidates must have proven ability to:

  • Plan, develop, implement and administer technology initiatives in a professional legal environment
  • Manage vendors, develop RPFs and select appropriate technology solutions for a firm of our size, and
  • Perform strategic planning of technology infrastructure, staffing and budgeting to achieve competitive advantage

Candidates must also have recent practical experience with the following technologies: Windows 2008 Server, Microsoft Exchange 2007, VMware and SAN storage (NetApp).

Qualified candidates should be effective communicators, highly organized and able to multi-task to ensure that critical deadlines are met. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of law firm experience required. Masters degree preferred.

 

Litigation Secretary - Sacramento

McDonough is currently seeking a Litigation Secretary to support our Public Law practice. Candidates should have at least 5 years experience as a litigation secretary, preferably in a large firm setting supporting multiple attorneys.

This position requires experience in all phases of complex litigation from beginning phases of discovery through trial and appeals, including the ability to calculate and calendar legal deadlines in accordance with statutory local, state, federal and administrative rules. Candidates should be proficient using legal technologies including Word, Outlook, Excel, document management systems, style, templates and document comparison programs.

Strong candidates will also be skilled in creating Table of Contents and Table of Authorities, and initial drafts of pleadings in a proactive manner. Experience e-filing and using Summation or a similar program is ideal. Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong candidates will have excellent communication, organization, grammar and proofing skills. The position requires someone who enjoys the challenge of an active case load with multiple responsibilities, tight deadlines and changing priorities. Candidates should be dependable, have a positive attitude, a team player approach and the ability to interact professionally with clients. Candidates with experience within the public/municipality, redevelopment, land use and environmental areas preferred.
