Professional Experience

Veronica joined McDonough’s Oakland office in 2005 as a member of the Public Law practice group where she represents a broad range of local government agencies in both transactional and litigation matters.

Veronica’s transactional experience includes drafting and negotiation purchases and sale agreements, first time homebuyer documents, disposition and development agreements and owner participation agreements. She also advises clients on a broad range of redevelopment issues, including: redevelopment plan adoption and amendment, use of redevelopment funds and affordable housing.

Veronica’s litigation practice encompasses a wide spectrum of public law issues. She routinely handles litigation involving land use, contract disputes, real estate investments, as well as general litigation matters.

Prior to joining McDonough, Veronica served as a litigation attorney with Downey Brand LLP. Her practice included commercial, employment, construction, and real estate law.

Prior Experience

Litigation

Assisted in representing public and private entities in federal construction litigation, real estate disputes, wage and hour class actions, discrimination and harassment suits, and wrongful terminations.

Transactional

Provided advice and counsel to public and private clients in areas including affirmative action and public contracting. Prepared termination and separation agreements, investigation reports, employee handbooks, commission plans, confidentiality agreements, safety programs, and drug testing policies.
