Professional Experience

Bob has been a construction lawyer for more than 30 years. He specializes in construction and surety law and litigation, and alternative dispute resolution, both as an advocate and as an arbitrator and mediator. Bob represents general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, and owners in connection with both public works and private construction projects. He has been a speaker on various construction law topics for the Associated General Contractors of California, the Associated Builders and Contractors, the American Arbitration Association, and California Continuing Education of the Bar.

Lead attorney prosecuting contractor claims for delay, extended overhead, and extra work against municipality arising from complex multi-year roadway/railroad grade separation project.

Lead attorney defending prime contractor in connection with delay, extended overhead, and labor inefficiency claims asserted by subcontractor on design/build VA hospital project.

Lead attorney representing prime contractor in claims against Caltrans arising from State highway project.

Lead attorney representing electrical subcontractor in connection with claims and disputes arising from University hospital project.

Lead attorney representing electrical subcontractor in connection with claims and disputes arising from airfield lighting project at Palmdale Air Force Base.

Prosecution of differing site conditions claim against AT&T arising from project to place telecommunications line under the Columbia River by horizontal directional drilling.

Lead attorney defending municipality in connection with claims arising from design/build airfield hanger project.
