Professional Experience

Leslie joined McDonough in 2003. She is a member of the firm’s Health Care practice group, where her practice includes health care operational, regulatory, and litigation matters.

Leslie also is a Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (“CCS–P”), which requires in-depth knowledge of the CPT coding system and familiarity with the ICD–9–CM and HCPCS Level II coding systems. This certification adds to her credentials as an expert in health information documentation, data integrity and quality, and coding as well as billing in physician-based settings such as physician offices, group practices, multi-specialty clinics, and specialty centers.

Representative Matters

Assistant trial counsel for health care providers in a lengthy binding arbitration hearing in a complex contract dispute involving thousands of claims for medical services, resulting in a favorable award against a major health plan.

Assistant trial counsel for health care providers in a contract dispute involving gastric bypass surgery charges, resulting in a favorable recovery from a major health insurance plan.

Assistant trial counsel for health care providers in a binding arbitration hearing involving neonatal intensive care unit charges and coding, resulting in a favorable award against a major health insurance plan.

Prior Experience

Significant experience in medical office administration and management, including coding, billing, and collections for radiology, orthopedic surgery, physical therapy, family practice, and internal medicine.
